Tanya Kolyaka awarded at European research conference
Tanya Kolyaka, PhD candidate at Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship, was presented with the "Best paper award" at the annual ESU conference, which was held at Leuphana University, Lüneburg, Tyskland this year. The paper which Tanya presented was awarded the Best paper award for outstanding quality, in competition with the 50 papers that was presented at the conference.
In the paper Bootstrapper´s ethics: Understanding creative means to new firm´s resourcing Tanya writes about bootstrapping with a focus on the entrepreneur and why the entrepreneurs makes the choices they do, and what ethical and moral implication they have to make those choices. In her research, Tanya challenges the tradtional research on finance, which to a large extent is based on quantative studies, and chooses to dig deeper and questions the notion of bootstrapping as something positive for the entrepreneur. Her research is based on interviews with entrepreneurs and companies.
The ESU conference is arranged annualy on different universities around Europe. The purpose is to provide young researchers a platform to create their own network and to have their research presented for researchers from all over Europe in an international environment.
